Summary: The Airbus-built EUTELSAT 36D telecommunications satellite was successfully launched on March 30, 2024, aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center. EUTELSAT 36D, based on the Eurostar Neo platform, will provide TV broadcasting and government services over Africa, Europe, and eastern countries with a planned lifetime of over 15 years. The all-electric satellite, equipped with 78 Ku-band transponders, ensures service continuity with EUTELSAT 36B and offers enhanced coverage and performance. Eurostar Neo satellites feature increased payload capacity, efficient power and thermal control, and reduced production costs. This satellite was developed with support from ESA, CNES, and the UKSA, and was shipped from Toulouse, France, to Florida via an Airbus BelugaST.
