Summary: NASA appointed Dina Contella as deputy program manager and Bill Spetch as operations integration manager for the International Space Station Program, effective June 2. Contella, with over 30 years of experience in various NASA roles, will co-manage the ISS program, succeeding Dana Weigel, who praised her expertise. Spetch, who has 27 years of ISS-related experience, will oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and research aboard the station, taking over from Contella. Contella’s previous roles include leading real-time operations and managing technical risks for the ISS, as well as serving in various technical and management positions. Spetch’s recent role involved managing the health and integrity of the ISS, integrating commercial elements, and providing real-time engineering support.
